Summary of our detailed BCP pet stroller/trailer review:

This product offers plenty of value for your money. It doesn’t cost too much, in fact, it’s sold at a very reasonable price. The versatility and ease with which you convert from stroller to trailer has been well thought-out by the manufacturer.

The steel frame and suspension system on the rear wheels perfectly complement each other. So, it’s no surprise that steering this thing brings immense joy to pets and pet owners alike!

Imagine how much money you’d need to spend to buy both a pet trailer and a pet stroller. If you want good-quality ones, you’d need to spend a couple of hundred dollars at the very least. Then you’d need to think about which pet transport carrier you’re going to bring for the day – should you bring the trailer or the stroller?

Fortunately, 2-in-1 pet carriers like this Best Choice Product pet trailer/stroller now exist. But we specifically chose this particular brand and model because, in all honesty, it offers unparalleled value for your money. Here’s why:

Advantages of the Best Choice Product 2-in-1 Pet Stroller and Trailer

Favorite feature #1: The 2-in-1 versatility

It’s true – this product does work exactly as advertised. Transforming this from stroller to trailer is a simple matter of removing the front wheel and storing it in the tube mounts at the back. Then you just need to bring out the bike hitch trailer that’s conveniently hidden underneath the trailer.

Likewise, if you want to transform from trailer to stroller, you just need to attach the front wheel and hide the hitch trailer again. Pretty simple, eh?

Favorite feature #2: Full suspension system on rear tires

Depending on the weight of your canine passenger and the road’s surface, a stroller/trailer without suspension may be a bit harder to steer and maneuver.

Fortunately, this product sports large wheels in the back (bigger than the wheel in front) with a full suspension system. This means it gives you better control and provides consistent handling and braking.

What this really means is that your dog will ultimately have a very enjoyable ride whether you use it as a stroller or trailer.

Favorite feature #3: Hand-lock brake system

I think it would be mighty inconvenient if the brake was controlled by your foot, like a pedal (similar to the Booyah 2-in-1) In this case, it makes a lot more sense to have the brake right on the handlebar. So, all you need to do is just reach over and squeeze the brake arm and the stroller will stop.

Also, if you need to park the stroller, you can just push down the brake pin to lock it into place. This is very handy if you’re trying to get your dog to go inside or outside the stroller. This way they’re not going to get scared or injured whilst jumping.

Favorite feature #4: Weather-resistant polyester plus high-visibility mesh

Protecting your fur baby from the elements and the weather is easy, thanks to the way this stroller/trailer is constructed. The primary material used is sturdy, waterproof polyester.

The windows are made with a high-visibility fabric mesh that also acts as a bug-screen, so those pesky bugs aren’t going to bother your pets during your adventure.

Obviously, it will also let the air in so your pet doesn’t suffocate inside. The front window also has a weather-resistant plastic cover, but the sides unfortunately don’t.

Favorite feature #5: Relatively light metal frame

Pushing or pulling a heavy trailer/stroller is no fun. Thankfully, this product is made with a steel frame so it only weighs 37 pounds.

Yeah, it’s a bit heavier than the Schwinn Rascal (27 pounds) and the DoggyRide Mini (22 pounds). But I think it’s still a good weight considering this can accommodate pets up to 66 pounds!

Handling all that weight isn’t going to be a problem either because of the awesome suspension wheels!

A Few Disadvantages

Disadvantage #1: No weather-resistant plastic cover on side panels

The front panel does have a plastic cover, but unfortunately, the sides have been left out. I think this is a major oversight on the manufacturer’s part and is definitely a disadvantage.

Disadvantage #2: Prone to tipping if pet lies down in the back

The center of gravity on this trailer/stroller isn’t in the center. So when your dog lies at the very back, it causes the product to tip over. This has been corroborated by other users, so this isn’t an isolated case. Note this only happens when it’s in stroller-mode. When it’s hitched to a bicycle, this isn’t an issue.

Actual User Reviews

Here’s what other BCP owners say about this product:

I am amazed at how cheaply I bought this thing for! For what I got, I would have been happy to pay a hundred bucks more. The design and overall versatility is what really won me over. When my family goes hiking or cycling, we never have to leave our 2 pomeranians behind. They both fit nicely in there and it’s a smooth ride (much smoother than the previous trailer I bought).
This is a wonderful cart for small to medium animals. Even my cat likes jumping onto this thing. We don’t take her for long rides though because she gets antsy and meows loudly in the back. The dog, however, (a Jack Russell) can literally live on this trailer. He’d excitedly leap onto the back when he sees us getting ready for the next adventure!
If this thing breaks down tomorrow, I’ll buy it again in a heartbeat. That’s how good I think it is! Just like the other reviewers said, this is a great investment for your pet. My dog’s getting on in years and can barely muster the energy to walk a few hundred feet. Getting this trailer/stroller for him has a been a life-saver. He gets to enjoy the view and smell the fresh air while I get to have some exercise. A super win-win!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How many pockets are on here?

There are two pockets – one on each side. You can put a water bottle, your keys, dog poo bags, treats, some dog food, and other small knickknacks.

  • Is the cushion good enough on this trailer?

I think it’s good enough for short rides. But for longer rides (think a few miles), a thick blanket or an extra cushion is a good idea. It will exponentially help with your dog’s comfort.

  • Can you fold this thing?

Yes, you can, but it’s not going to lie flat. You can remove the push handle and the wheels, and the sides will fold down. But doing so will take some practice. In short, it’s not going to be simple. Unlike the DoggyRide Mini which has quick-release wheels and a quick-fold frame.

  • How many dogs can you fit inside?

Well, it depends on how big and how heavy they are. The max limit is 66 pounds, but the cabin itself would be too small for bigger dog breeds. Also, there’s only one leash holder, so think about it if you want to cram multiple dogs inside.

Should you buy this product?

Yes, this is a very good buy indeed. One of the best value-for-your-money pet trailer and stroller. It’s very well constructed – from the steel frame to the waterproof polyester and the bug-repellent fabric mesh – the manufacturer has engineered this for your pet’s comfort.

It does have a few drawbacks, but at the price it’s selling for, I don’t think it’s a deterrent at all. The manufacturer offers a 60-day warranty, so if you want to go check it out, click the red button below!
