Summary of our Booyah pet stroller & trailer review:

If you’re looking for a good-quality and stable pet stroller/trailer, then this is one of the best products you can buy right now. The frame is solid and relatively light, and the polyester fabric helps protect your precious fur baby inside.

The fabric mesh, a.k.a. the windows, provide ventilation whilst also keeping bugs out. If the weather’s nice, you can roll up the sunroof and the front window’s cover. Then let your dog enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells from the neighborhood!

Traveling in style with your pets in tow is now possible thanks to a variety of pet carriers. For medium dogs up to 60 pounds, this Booyah Medium 2-in-1 pet stroller and trailer is one of the best choices out there.

For bigger dogs, Booyah also makes a large version for pets up to 88 pounds. Read on for more reasons why you should definitely look into this Booyah for your dog’s next ride:

Advantages of the Booyah Pet Bike Trailer & Stroller

Favorite feature #1: Stable and not prone to tipping over

Your pet’s safety should always come first. Other pet trailers and strollers have an issue of easily tipping over. For instance, if you make a quick turn on your bike, the trailer can tip over (this is one of the issues on the Schwinn Rascal trailer).

Likewise, if your dog likes to lie down in the stroller’s back (near the handle), then the moment you let go of the handle, it can tip over (this is a problem on the Best Choice Product's 2-in-1 stroller/trailer).

Fortunately, Booyah’s product seems to have solved this issue. They put the rear wheels a bit closer to the back (and the wheels are a bit smaller too) which somehow shifts the center of gravity.

So, even if your dog lies in the back, the stroller isn’t going to tip over (unless, of course, you have two or three dogs all lying in the back!).

Favorite feature #2: Solid construction

The trailer/stroller combo weighs about 31 pounds. However, if you just want to use it as a trailer, that is, you remove the front wheel and the handlebar and leave it in the house, then it’s going to be much lighter at 28 pounds.

Booyah built this thing to last. And with the one-year warranty, it should lay to rest any quality concerns or issues you may have with this product.

Favorite feature #3: Foldable and very versatile

In addition to converting this from a stroller into a trailer (and vice versa), you can also easily fold this. You start off by removing the front wheel, then the handlebar and then the two rear wheels (they come with a quick-release button). Then you can fold the sides to make it even more compact.

Favorite feature #4: Full suspension system

Your dogs are going to hate a bumpy ride (and so would you, really). Fortunately, this product has a full suspension system on the 16-inch pneumatic rear wheels. This means your dogs aren’t going to get dizzy from riding it.

Obviously, the more positive the experience, the better the chance your dog’s going to love riding on this thing! So, more adventures for the both of you!

Favorite feature #5: One-year warranty

Yep, there’s a one-year warranty included. This may not sound like much, however, when you consider the fact that other 2-in-1 manufacturers like BCP only offer 60 days for the warranty, then you’ll come to appreciate the 1-year offer.

A Few Disadvantages

Disadvantage #1:  Not a fan of the brake’s location

This is actually a two-bladed sword. Let me explain. Other competitors like Best Choice Product's 2-in-1 model has a handbrake in the handlebar. Booyah’s version, however, completely removes the handbrake. Instead, it uses a manual brake lever that’s positioned right beside the left rear wheel.

I find the location a bit inconvenient because if I want to use it, I’d first need to get the whole thing to come to a stop. And then I have to bend down by the left wheel and push the lever down, so it locks the wheel in place.

Whereas if the brake was by the handle all I’ll need to do is just squeeze it and the stroller will come to a stop. Pretty simple. However, there is a huge benefit to having a manual brake. There’s no brake cable to worry about which makes removing the handlebar a simple thing to do on this product.

Disadvantage #2: Exposed storage tubes need to be covered up

The front wheels are removable. You can either leave this at home or you can store it at the back of the trailer. There’s a couple of tubes there that will perfectly match the two bars on the front wheel.

The problem arises when you use the product as a stroller where you attach the front wheel and leave the two tubes exposed at the back. If you’re not careful, you or your dog can cut yourself on the tubes (especially the one in the middle). So, you need to cover it with something, so the edges aren’t exposed.

Disadvantage #3: No covers for the side mesh windows

I think all pet trailers should have some type of cover for side windows. When the weather’s sunny, there’s obviously no need for a cover. But rain or a light drizzle can strike anytime, and the side windows will be unprotected.

Actual User Reviews

Here’s what other users are saying about this product:

I’m more into walking/jogging than cycling. But I chose to buy this over a pet stroller because my son does love to ride his bicycle. So, I thought a little versatility isn’t going to hurt anyone. When I go jogging, I use this as a stroller and I love how easy it is to push this thing around. The suspension is really nice and steering it is no problem. I can even steer this with just one hand (I suppose my dog being a light 20 pounds helps with this as well). My son, on the other hand, when he goes biking, he sometimes hitches this as a trailer so the dog can ride with him. He has had no complaints whatsoever, so I’m really happy with this purchase!
This is a really well-made stroller/trailer. I’m not afraid of letting my two medium cocker spaniels ride at the same time. They both fit comfortably and I’ve attached the safety leash to their harness. I like that the windows are made of mesh – it allows air to get in and also lets the dogs get a view of the outside world. I just wish they had a cover for the side windows though. One time I got caught in sudden rain and the dogs got wet inside courtesy of the side windows.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this trailer noisy?

Not at all. It’s a pleasure to use this thing whenever my husband and I go out for a walk. The shocks on this are pretty good and there’s no creaking sound whatsoever. Of course, over time, you may need to add some oil to keep the wheels running smoothly.

  • What is the fabric made of?

The main compartment is made with 1680D polyester which is pretty durable and weather-resistant.

  • Can I use this on dirt roads?

Yes, this thing is quite durable so it runs well on both paved and rough roads. Just try not to take this into soft sand as depending on the weight of your dog, this can sink and will be extremely difficult to maneuver.

  • Is the bike hitch removable?

No, it’s not. It stores safely underneath the trailer though so it doesn’t take any extra space at all.

Should you buy the Booyah Medium 2-in-1 Pet Stroller & Trailer?

Yes, I highly recommend this product. It’s very well constructed and durable enough that you should have no problem keeping this for years. The suspension system is fantastic and your pets are going to love riding on this thing. The overall versatility and flexibility are great features that not a lot of other products can match. The company is US-based so getting that warranty honored shouldn’t be a problem at all.
